Nerisa
Hi, I’m Nerisa. I’m a breast cancer survivor, lunch lady, and kindness fanatic who started Happy Mail in 2023 after a fellow cancer warrior I met on TikTok sent me a small gift that meant the world.
During treatment, I promised myself I’d pay that love forward and now, with the help of an amazing community, we’ve sent over 770 care packages to cancer & chronic illness warriors across the country. Every keychain, bracelet, and duck (yep, you read that right—ducks!) is a little reminder that you’re not alone, and you are so loved.
I may have started Happy Mail, but it’s the community that keeps it going. I’m honored to be part of this space where compassion, connection, and hope collide.

Jes
Hi, I’m Jes, a triple-negative breast cancer survivor, advocate, and storyteller. After my diagnosis, I turned to sharing my story and connecting with others who truly understand the complexities of living with cancer and chronic illness. My journey has taught me so much about resilience and the importance of human connection, and it fuels my passion for building spaces where people can feel heard, supported, and empowered. I believe that we are all more than our diagnosis, and I’m committed to creating spaces where individuals can find strength through connection and shared experiences.

Karen
Hi, I’m Karen — a wife, mom of two (and two sweet fur babies), and metastatic breast cancer thriver. I was diagnosed de novo with ER+/PR+ invasive ductal carcinoma and am currently on Ibrance, anastrozole, and Lupron. I’m happy to share that I’m currently stable!
Cancer is now a constant in my life, but this diagnosis has taught me to slow down and savor the little things — laughing until my cheeks hurt, messy mornings, and quiet nights with my family. Some days I feel strong, and other days I feel raw, but I’m learning to live and love through both.
I joined More Than A Diagnosis because I believe in the power of community and connection. Living with MBC mirrors living with a chronic illness in many ways — learning to manage the day-to-day, balancing treatment, energy, and life in between. Together, we can share our truths and help rewrite what it means to live with cancer or chronic illness — not just survive it.
